Holistic Healing Behavioral Healthcare is a community-based, culturally specific integrated behavioral healthcare agency serving children, adults, and families throughout the Portland metropolitan area, which offers high quality, direct, clinical services to those experiencing addiction and mental health disorders by providing optimal mental health therapy and addiction treatment, rendered by highly effective clinicians. Our program applies a framework of scientifically validated cognitive-behavioral principles inclusive of but not limited to: Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Training (DBT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PET), utilizing a client-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approach rooted in the Family Systems theoretical approach which is designed to change attitudes and behaviors which reframes and changes an individual’s maladaptive thinking and behavior patterns to bring about personal transformation.

Services offered include:

Mental Health: HHBH Master level clinicians render highly effective and quality mental health services through a trauma-informed, culturally responsive and client-centered approach. Our theoretical orientation is rooted in family systems with an emphasis on: Cognitive Processing Therapy(CPT),  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Crisis Intervention Therapy (CIT) .

Addiction Services: We at HHBH understand that African American clients who struggle with substance abuse and/or mental health disorders experiences, look very different than that of the men and women of the dominant culture, as it relates to their experience with the legal system, treatment encounters and accountability.

DUII Services: HHBH DUII program ensures appropriate screening, education, and substance use disorder treatment services for individuals who are under a diversion agreement for, or convicted of, driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII) in an Oregon court. The service is offered to aid in completing court requirements and to reduce the risk of re-offending.

Gambling Services: HHBH gambling counseling is effective because its purpose is not just to stop the gambling, but to eradicate the DESIRE to gamble.

Peer Support Services: HHBH Peer Mentors use their long-term successful experience in to support others in recovery. Combined with skills learned in formal training, and their lived experience, cultural responsivity places them in a unique position to offer support, important connection and hope that recovery is possible.

Individual, Group, & Family Counseling: Family Therapy works well with small children and teens and is one of our healing points for the individual and family. Communication and connection is primary. In the Black family A positive positive self image, and secure relationship with parents, aunts and uncles is the number one protective factor against mental health issues, academic problems, and drug and alcohol issues. Our basic premise is that everyone in the Family, village(community) ( Tribe) has contributed And influenced in some way to the problem, and therefore, has an important role in helping Identify and resolving those same problems affecting the child or teen.

Reentry Program: (CRS) is designed to be the bridge which fosters a successful reentry transition and reduces recidivism. Our program is most essential through guidance for individuals who are transitioning back into the community after incarceration. Our aim is to disrupt recidivism, systematic racism, social marginalization and barriers to a successful reentry by equipping individuals with the necessary social skills and employment supports. We promote cultural pride, positive self image , and the emancipation from culturally destructive assimilation by unconditional positive regard through the education of black heritage.
