  • MHAAO is committed to promoting self-directed recovery and wellness for all individuals. We honor lived experiences. We support people wherever they are on their journey, free from judgment, or agenda.

    We support these aims through education, advocacy, recovery peer services, training, technical assistance, community collaboration, and through developing the peer workforce and leadership.

    MHAAO is an inclusive peer-run organization dedicated to self-direction honoring the voice of lived experience.

    Through M110 funding, MHAAO will be able to expand peer services, recovery mentors, and get a mobile harm reduction van staffed with peers.

  • We are proud to offer peer delivered services in conjunction with most of our programs. Our peer mentors have lived experience in addictions, mental health, incarceration and homelessness. The peer mentors at Bridges to Change walk alongside you on your journey to recovery and healing. We believe that participants are the experts in their own lives and support you in finding the path that works best for your needs.

    Our immediate care programs are designed to create rapid access and support you right now. These programs include access to basic resources such as food, showers, laundry, clothing, supplies and more. They are staffed with peer mentors, mental health providers and housing experts.   • The Going Home II Recovery Resource Center is the hub of our Behavioral Health Support Program. This is a culturally appropriate safe space that plays a significant role in the lives of the individuals we serve. Our peer support staff builds trust through authentic interactions while supporting participants with a range of peer supported services.

  • JMIR offers Peer Support and Mentoring services through modeling clean & sober living, membership, outreach and support meeting to the African American community.

  • MAAPPS is an addiction peer association in the Portland Metro Area (tri counties)

    MAAPPS provides recruitment of BIPOC Peers, training vouchers for core peer training, technical assistance, and sponsorship of Spanish language training.

    For training vouchers, please only refer those who fit the requirements of in-recovery, and BIPOC or LGBTQIA2S+.

  • Oregon Change Clinic’s Substance Use Disorder counseling treatment is 10-20 hours per week. This includes groups, individual sessions with a licensed counselor, case management, consultation with medical director, and wellness activities. Specialty programs are available for African Americans and veterans.

  • Our peer services are provided by Certified Recovery Mentors and Peer Support Specialists with lived experience and through trauma informed care. We are able to provide support and connection with important community resources to aid in your recovery. At Outside In, we are guided by a harm reduction model where everyone deserves respect and is a valued member of the community.

  • Painted Horse Recovery is a recovery community organization providing Indigenous Native-based addiction recovery support services.

    Painted Horse Recovery provides free Native-based substance use recovery peer services to adults. All peer services are delivered by Certified Recovery Mentors. Peer Mentors are individuals with at least two-years of abstinence who use their recovery experience to help others achieve recovery by developing a recovery lifestyle, overcome barriers, set/achieve goals, reconnect with their culture, and support individuals in becoming self sufficient.

  • FSR Addiction Services: Finding and Sustaining Recovery (FSR) is an integrated behavioral health treatment program designed to help those dealing with addiction build sober and healthy lifestyles. FSR Addiction Services include Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, Wellness Movement, Group Therapy, Peer Support, Sober Housing, Individual Therapy, and Nutrition.

  • SoValTi is a culturally sensitive social service agency committed to serving African American and biracial individuals in the Portland Metropolitan area. We specialize in working with men, women and children using a trauma informed approach to emphasize self-examination as a means to engaging individuals in the change process. We offer an array of culturally responsive services, education, and programming. Our staff of system navigators assist and provide clients with the resources and tools to encourage success.

  • Peer Mentorship/Reintegration provides 1:1 mentorship for additional support such as: life skills, employment, housing, stability and work to create a plan for direction. This program is based at the Coffee Creek Correctional Facility beginning six months prior to a woman's release date, and is built around an individual action plan and follow-ups. Program launched April 2018 partnership with African American Program (AAP) through Multnomah County.

  • Recovery Works NW offers Peer Support - Recovery support and connection to resources.

    Recovery Works Northwest in Portland, Oregon provides medically-assisted drug and alcohol treatment, focusing on recovery, relapse prevention, and a return to normalcy.   • Certified Recovery Mentors provide nonjudgmental emotional support and guidance for individuals seeking help with their recovery. Peer Services connect clients with life-changing community resources including, but not limited to: transportation, housing, education, employment, medical/dental care, referral to Addiction Treatment, Mental Health, or other services, orientation to community-based recovery, advocacy with the Criminal Justice System, Child Welfare, or other institutions.
