Founded in 1997, SE Works, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit and certified Community-Based Development Organization (CBDO) through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

“Our mission is to disrupt poverty through education, training, and living wage employment.”

SE Works Supported Employment Program is accepting referrals for individuals waiting for treatment, in active treatment and/or recovery. This is a low barrier program to ensure ease of access.

The program has two tracks:

  • Active job placement at supported employment sites that includes job placement and follow up supports.

  • Learn & Earn stipend based training track that provides skills training at a training site to help individuals build new skills, obtain a reference and apply the training to the next step of unsubsidized employment. Upon completion of the stipend training program we provide assistance in securing employment and follow up supports.

Participants in the Learn & Earn stipend training track will receive weekly stipends based on attendance and training site feedback.

All participants have equal access to support services including transportation, training, cell phones, clothing for work, and tools. In addition, we fund cost free occupational certificates such as flagging, forklift, food handlers card, and peer support certifications.
